Allow admin to limit add-on licenses to specific users

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

Allow instance admins to control which users should have access to an add-on. This would be very useful to restrict some add-on's abilities just to some specific users, given by the instance admin

The current configuration is that all users have access to the add-on's functionalities, and are billed accordingly.

This issue appear to be marked as duplicating issue https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-59932 as such anyone interested in JRACLOUD-78940 should consider also voting for JRACLOUD-59932, if they haven't already done so.

I think they will find that they are losing more revenue from company’s who need to go through business justification and can’t justify the cost of using these add-ons. Much cheaper to find alternatives which is what we end up doing.

            Hi Rafael Melo.

I don't think the linked issue would implement what is requested here, as the linked issue is only about data access, not the licensing issue described here.

Please action this feature request. Helps the business case for using Atlassian products across the org as the preferred partner for project management tooling.

Look at the stockprice of Atlassian - this would cost them to many $$$$

They're not going to change this. It's a cash cow for Atlassian- having large businesses pay for thousands of licenses the userbase will never use.

+1 a year later, any updates or roadmap plans for this?

I don't know how many app requests I have already denied because of this issue. A lot.

I have also chosen many other solutions outside of atlassian.

This can't be the right strategy for Atlassian nor the app sellers on the Atlassian marketplace.
