      Update added 20 February 2024:

I believe the product behaviour has changed since this ticket was first created. It is now possible to change the width of columns in the List view of a Jira Work Management project. The text values in the columns will still be truncated, however:

Looking at some of the Support tickets that have been internally linked here, I believe there is a remaining request for this text to dynamically fill the width of the column rather than being truncated after x characters.

      Original Description:

      Problem Definition

At this moment, it is not possible to resize the width of the columns of JWM project and it is not in full screen. Some would like it full screen and some may like the shrunk view.

      Suggested Solution

Add the ability for users to resize the width of the columns per their requirement.

      Why this is important

This feature would greatly improve the user experience.

Hi @Anusha Rutnam your comment that you are describing the behavior of the text not being able to fully displayed and having the '...' is exactly what I am talking about. The column can be dynamically expanded, which is wonderful, just allow the text to do the same thing.

I upvoted this issue and also made myself a watcher.

well, unfortunatelly, is the same case here.

Jira changed without any warning setting the scroll bar on the boards.

My team was horrified about that, and we don´t have any control over it. We need to roolback Jira to latest version before this scrolling bars. Or, maybe Jira could provide some way to configure this feature.
            Thanks.

The Issue Type Column is so small that it takes ages to open and check what the issue type is. Why do we need to read the summary to understand what the problem is? Instead at least increasing the issue type column width shall be of great help.

The horizontal scrolling issue seems to have just affected my board view as well. This is not a helpful "feature" as now I have to scroll to see the entire board, which is distracting and time-consuming. Please provide the option to turn this "feature" off so that my board will auto-scale to fit any screen I'm using.

Our team very much does not like the new horizontal scrolling feature. This should be rolled back so that we can more easily see the entire board on one screen.

It was rolled back in another ticket: JSWCLOUD-21013

If this horizontal scrolling is really desired by a user, it should be a configurable setting they can turn on for each separate project.

Horizontal scrolling doesn't work for everyone. Hence an option to switch the same on/off at user level should be granted.

We really would love to have an option to turn on/off - horizontal scroling doesnt work for our project.

Hi, I have a bunch of users pissed with this change. Please, consider make this change a board preference.

            Thanks!

I prefer the way that it was. I think this change should be rolled back. The overview is now completely gone since the boards are so small
