      Hi,

in our test environment based on JIRA 6.1 I try to implement some existing custom fields of my project into the customer portal.

If I a try to use an existing custom field (in create-screen available) it does not work.
If I create a new custom field (of type text or date picker) via administration it's not working.

If I create a new custom field (of type text or date picker) directly via an issue (new feature of 6.1) it works.
If I create a new custom field (of type lable) directly via an issue it's not working.

What's the rule behind this behaviour? Cannot find anything in our weak documentation (really unusual for Atlassian).

      Cheers Sascha

            Hi Joshua,

thanks for your quick response. Your are right, the setting of the existing custom fields were not setup properly.

Shall I ajust my issue summary to 'custom field of type label cannot be added' to make it more cleare for others that would like to track this issue?

            Regards Sascha

            Hi Sascha,

Not being able to add a custom label field is a bug, which will be tracked via JSD-86. For the other fields, I recommend comparing their configuration on JIRA's custom fields screen with the fields added via the view issue screen. It's possible the existing custom fields and those created via admin are missing a particular setting required for them to appear in the add field dialog. For example, are they available to the project and the issue type being used in the request type?
