Unable to attach word documents in a way that makes it visible on the customer portal

      Using the exclamation mark wiki syntax for embedding attachments in a comment does not work for all file types.

      We need a way for the service desk team member to be able to attach any file and choose to make it visible to the customer by embedding it in a comment.

      As mentioned in the comments, this is actually not a bug.

      The correct way to attach a non-image file in wiki markup is to use:

      [^worddocname.doc]

            Is there a way not to include the link in the mail, so that only the file as attachment arrives within the mail?

            I ask, because our Jira server is not public, so customers can not follow the links to the attachment.

            Thanks for verifying this suzanne.flegel, I will close this ticket.

            Longer term we do plan on making it more intuitive for agents to be able to add attachments (both images and files) into comments.

            Hi Shihab,

            This does work; just need to use this: [^worddocname.doc] or [^worddocname.docx] in comment that follows the attachment. I know; just found out about this yesterday and have fully tested it out. I have put in a request to Atlassian to update their Text Formatting Help page.
