Summary:
Hitting Edit for Service Desk enabled projects in IE 11 causes the browser to hang. Any other JIRA project issues work without issue.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open any issue in Service Desk Project (from agent's issue view page)
- Click Edit
- JIRA will appear to be loading the edit screen, but will sit and spin on load.
Error thrown
Activating the developer tool shows
Unableto get property 'removeChild' of undefined or null reference File: batch.js, Line: 149, Column: 394
as shown in the screenshot below (IE11 Debug)
Additional information:
Reproducible in IE 11 (Versions confirmed: 11.0.9600.18036, 11.0.10245.16590) only (but does work without issue in IE 11.0.9600.17728)
Does not happen with other versions of IE, or other browsers
Happens only to Service Desk Projects (other projects work fine)
Tested with JIRA 6.4.4 and JSD 2.5.6 and 2.5.9.
Workaround
In the developer tool (Emulation)
- Change the Document Mode and User Agent String to other version of IE (such as IE 10) as shown below

Thanks for your report.
This particular issue with IE11 has been fixed, and was included in the JSD 3.0.0 and newer Server releases.
If you are using Cloud, the fix is also in that version.
