      Atlassian Update – 4-Dec-2018

The feature requested for Customers to be able to choose their own language from the Customer Portal was implemented in Service Desk 3.3 and we will proceed to close this issue now. If you have additional feedback on this or any other requested internationalization/translation-related functions, please direct it the request Multilingual Service Desk.

      Best regards

Service Desk 1.2 introduces a new login and profile page.
Similar to the customer time zone, add the ability to change the JIRA language. Because JIRA doesn't detect it from the browser settings JRA-36925

Here is my workarround to archieve this with the JIRA Automation Plugin:

            • Create a new request type Change language to german
            • Set a default Summary Change Service Desk language, no more fields needed
            • Create a new automation for the create event
            • Filter for the request type
            • Add the edit user profile action and add the prefered language
            • Add the add comment action to say the customer he needs to refresh the browser to see the change
            • Add the transition action to close the request.

            Not perfect, but works
