If there is only one user portal going to /portals should redirect to it automatically

      NOTE: This bug report is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

      If there is only one service desk, going to /servicedesk/customer/portals should automatically redirect to it (e.g. /servicedesk/customer/portal/1 or whatever the id of the one portal is).

      This would save users an extra click and a some confusion.

            Andreas is correct, this is not what happens (on Cloud at least).  I wanted to raise the same suggestion.  Currently we have 2 portals, however during the months we only had 1, we definitely saw this issue where there was a wasted click which generates some confusion for customers.  The issue is actually amplified by the coloring of the button to enter the portal which is extremely easy to miss (I missed it, and I've seen several people miss it when looking for how to raise a ticket).

            If I copy/paste "x.x.x/servicedesk then I end up on /servicedesk/customer/portals (not the only one that actually exist)

            This is so bad - and it's been a while  LOL

            Hi dk101

            We have investigated this issue, and the feature is working as expected.

            When you follow a link or type the /portals url, if you have only 1 portal, then it will redirect to that portal.

            However, once you are inside the Customer Portal, clicking the Help Center link will take you to the Portal of Portals page. This is to provide a consistent experience for all users.

            The initial redirect is a way of reducing the number of clicks required to raise a ticket, however it is not designed to change the user experience once inside the portal.

            We can confirm that the behaviour you describe, is what should be happening. This includes:

            • When a single portal, redirect to that from /portals
            • Clicking on the Help Center link when a single portal, should also redirect to that portal

            Therefore I have updated the issue type to a bug. Please continue to watch this issue for updates.

            Hi daniel.kustrin@fil.com, it already automatic redirect to individual portal. Unless you have more than 1 service desk project.
