Summary:

The language settings for JIRA Service Desk seem to not be applied everywhere / properly.

      Steps to Reproduce:

      1. Set JIRA System language to non-english
      2. Set user language to english.
      3. Go in to Service Desk
      4. Check the Service Desk queues

      Expected Results:

The language used should be english

      Actual Results:

It seems to be a mix of english and the system default language (please see attached screenshot)

[JSDSERVER-1761] Default JIRA language overrides user language preset.

            Same root cause with JSD-1937

This bug is caused by JSD project metadata. When a new Service Desk is created, we will pre-populate the project with lots of default data, such as queues, SLAs, Request Types, etc. The thing is we use the default JIRA language (which is French in this case) to create the project, hence the language mix-up. Fortunately, the pre-made metadata can be manually edited by project admin later to match whichever language he wants. This looks like a feature request to me.
