    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Jira Service Management Data Center. Using Jira Service Management Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

As a user I don't want to scroll through long pages in order to fill out all mandatory fields / the information needed.

I see two possible solutions :

      *Having Tabs (as in JIRA)
*Multiple pages for one Request (Go to Step 2 ... Step 3... Click on Submit)

HR Team in our company would like this feature as well to be able to split the customer portal into sections like sub-screens in order to put more info and make the portal more readable

This is a much needed feature that our teams keep asking for.

We pay a lot of money for Jira and we don't have this kind of thing from the box.

I needed this 3 years ago. We ended up using 'Extension for Jira Service Desk' plugin. It offers bundled fields (multiple fields on the same line) plus show/hide fields feature based on the choice made by the customer. Just letting people know of a possible solution in the meantime, as even with enough interest this feature might take YEARS to be released...

I am also frustrated by this issue and the lack of response from the Jira team.  I can create multiple tabs on the associated issue type screen but not on the customer portal request type.

I too have a lot of information that can be captured by the user (a traveller profile) and want to break the information down into sections (Personal ID, Emergency Information, Medical Info....)

Please can someone provide an update on this?  I am on cloud so can't even look to any 3rd party plugins

This needs to be introduced to fully utilise the Customer Portal, Does anyone know of a plugin that will do the job compatible with 7.9 ?

Please feel free to have a look at : https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.lab333.jira.jsdWizard/server/overview

It is a small inhouse plugin, released open source at https://github.com/Gruck/jsd-wizard

Provided with no warranty whatsoever (MIT)

If you have script runner, it can be run if installed as web ressources.

I second Dina's words, "At least allow the fields to be placed next to each other rather than underneath.".

It is extremely bad to use it when you have long forms or have information organized in topics, it gets really confusing.

This topic prevents us from introducing JIRA Service Desk to our customers, so from buying service desk agent licenses.

I wonder, why the feature of customer friendly multi page input forms is not one of the most focussed features for the Service Desk application.

I second this. Customers get discouraged filling out long forms, however sometimes it is just necessary. A simple radio button with two options Yes and No takes two rows and if you have multiple ones the form gets really ugly.

I have a Staff on-boarding form (PDF) that I would like to start using with JSD and a workflow. If only I could arrange the request form better, be able to have sections with separators, be able to group fields next to each other, hide/show fields based on the selection of another field. There needs to be a 'Request Form Designer' where you can go in and edit the look and feel and also the functionality of the request forms. The way the fields are arranged now in like a narrow column down the center of the page, it's horrible.

We  want to use this to automate our travel request process.  For each stage of a journey the user has to enter 9 fields and there can be up to 4 stages, this would work much better if they could be on tabs or at least in sections with a heading.

Our company is struggling with this as well, we have some forms that require information that not all the same parties have and being able to go to their own TAB would make completing these forms so much easier

Filling out long requests is confusing , especially if you collect equal information for different roles (as seen on the screenshots ... Customer Details / Requestor Details)
