Issue Summary
Discovery agent seems to be installed twice.
Steps to Reproduce
- Download the Latest version of the Discovery tool from the Marketplace (Direct download here)
- Extract the Zip file on a Windows 10 Machine
- Run the Agent installer:
Discovery_Agent_Setup_x86.msi /x64 will give the same result - Navigate to see the Installed Programs
Expected Results
The Discovery Agent application is installed once, one service is running
Actual Results
The Discovery Agent is installed twice:
Once with the correct version, and once with v.3.0.3
The Registry shows the correct instance, and Services shows only one service is running - as expected.

Workaround
The duplicated application does not affect the Agent's performance, unless you intentionally uninstall the Application "Discovery-Agent" showing your version.
The "Discovery Agent" v.3.0.3 by itself will run locally, but will fail to communicate with the Discovery tool.

[JSDSERVER-10836] Installing the Discovery Agent on Win10 results in Two applications installed.
Dear Atlassian-Team,
we did another test with the discovery agent installer. It still installs two applications:
Discovery Agent Installer (3.1.2) Discovery-Agent (3.1.5.0)
We have to install the agent on 1'000+ devices via SCCM. I need to know, what those two applications are needed for. Is there a documentation for the installer? What is the difference between installation to the current user or to all users? Is there a "how to install via SCCM"?
Last, but not least: the installer does not properly remove previous version of the agent. (Discovery Agent (Mindville, Version 1.18.0)) E.g. the discovery agent service is still listed.
This bug affects us as well. Our Client Engineering is not willing to push the discovery agent to all our clients, as long as this is not fixed. In the meantime, we are getting data vom SCCM into our Insight.

"Discovery Agent Installer" is the installer of "Discovery Agent". Basically, if you delete "Discovery Agent" you can reinstall it through "Discovery Agent Installer". On the other hand, if you delete "Discovery Agent Installer" then "Discovery Agent" will be deleted too.
For now "Discovery Agent Installer" is required to be installed along with "Discovery Agent".
Agent's version 1.18.0 is pretty old and there may be issues with new versions of "Discovery Agent Installer". We'll investigate it more
