    Description

      Environment: Cloud

      Problem Definition:
Customers are not able to choose the Assignee on the portal.

If assignee field is added to the request form it has to be preset and hidden.

Suggested Solution: Allow customers to choose the assignee on the portal

      Why is this important:
      Use cases:
-Customer is internal and wants to assign a ticket to a specific person
-Customer raises a new request and wants to continue working on it with a specific agent

      Workaround:
Use automation to take the value in a custom field from the portal and update the assignee field.
Not an ideal workaround as it can be tedious when there are many agents.

Another alternative is to use Forms feature:

      • You can create a new form and add to it a single-user type field
      • Set the form to link a Jira field to it, selecting Assignee Jira default field
      • Then, on Form Settings, you may enable "Request form" and "Create new issue" options - on this, you'll be asked to choose a Request type to be used as reference
      • After the above, whenever a customer raises a ticket using the selected Request Type, the new form will be used to be filled, what means Assignee field will be shown as selectable
