Summary
When adding fields to request types used by email for the customer portal it is not possible to configure the field 'components' as required.
Environment
Vertigo
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to Request Types
- Click on Edit fields for the email request type
- Add a field that is not summary or description to the request type
- Set the field components to required
- Try and save the settings and notice you cannot do anything
Expected Results
There should be an error displayed that says
This request type is used by the email channel and Jira Service Desk cannot fill in field Component/s automatically from emails.
Actual Results
The update button does not work and no error appears.

Workaround
Leave the field as not required and give the field a default value on create. i.e. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/default-component/qaq-p/454236
