      Summary

JIRA Service Desk Connectivity logs display dozens of "AUTHENTICATE failed" errors, just to successfully connect a minute later. While this does not prevent the mail handler from working, it still causes confusion to our customers.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Configure a Custom Service Desk Email Handler
      2. Wait for a few hours
      3. Check the connectivity logs

      Expected Results

As long as the password isn't changed, you shouldn't see "AUTHENTICATE failed" errors.

      Actual Results

"AUTHENTICATE failed" errors are eventually displayed in the logs, followed by a "Success" entry.

The below exception is thrown in the JIRA Logs:

      msg: [AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Invalid credentials (Failure)
stack: javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: [AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Invalid credentials (Failure)
