      Problem Definition

      Microsoft Outlook 2007/2010 unable to process URLs longer than 1033 characters. Password reset emails can exceed this character limit making the password reset link unusable.

      Suggested Solution

      Find ways to shorten the URL so that Outlook 2007/2010 can handle them.

      Why this is important

      Many customers are using Outlook 2007/2010 as their default mail client.

      Workaround

      Use a web browser or another email client.
