      Problem Definition

The current jql variables allow searching approvals and approvers as described in this document.
JIRA however does not store the values of which users that have approved or declined a request.
The pending and pendingBy("") option only allows for issues to be displayed that still require approval, or still require approval by a defined set of users, though it is not possible to display the users themself as a function of the issues.
Doing so would allow for reporting on this field to be put in place, as well as extend the possibilities within the issue navigator to see the actual approval status of a request

      Suggested Solution

Store approvers, decliners and pending approvers in a searchable field.

[JSDCLOUD-4532] Provide a field displaying users that have approved, declined or still a pending action for a request requiring approval

            Hi all,

We have recently made some changes here where we now display (in the approval activity feed) who gave an approval and when that approval was given. We can't show who is yet to give an approval at this time as it would violate permissions (agents shouldn't be able to see which users belong to a group) but do agree that this is a valuable use case and would like to solve that problem in future.

Does this help? We would love to hear from you.

            Best regards,

I would like to have this as well and available as a data tag that I can pull into automated email notifications.  For example, I would like to use it in an automated email to say, "Your request has been declined by ______."

As a Change Manager it is vital to see the approval statuses for any changes that are currently in approval flight, particularly changes that have been declined. Having a JQL variable that displays all outstanding approvals, approved and declined users would dramatically aid the speed of how changes can go through the change advisory board. Our current ITSM/IT Service Desk tools provide this mechanism.
