Current State:

Currently, the Backup and Restore available for Assets data will only allow you to make a snapshot of the entire data and restore it into an empty site:

But, to select any specific Object or set of Objects, customers have to manually export objects under each object type.

Currently, when you go to:

Data Management > Backups > Create or Restore a backup
You only see the option to perform a full backup overwrite.

Proposed Future State:

Allow customers to select a specific set of Objects they'd like to restore according to their needs. Some real case scenarios:

• Only restore Objects created in the last 24 hours.
• Restore only the Objects created between Date range A - B.
• Restore only Objects without overwriting Objects created in the last 24 hours.
   

  Alternative (e.g. Third Party Plugin):

The only alternative is to restore a full backup to an empty site and manually extract the desired Objects back to your desired site.

From Restore app data from backup:

 - You can’t restore backups into apps that have user-generated data. Make sure that you have a site without data.
