      Hi everyone,

      My name is Vish, and I'm from the Jira Service Management team - we hear your frustration with the wait-time for Assets Backup/Restore functionality - and I want to make sure it's clear that Atlassian is absolutely committed to the delivery of this must-have feature.

      We will share a timeline for when to expect delivery of this by the end of the year.

      In the meantime there are a lot of exciting Assets features in progress that we're really excited to share; news of which will be posted on the community blog shortly. In addition, you may also find a workaround by leveraging our REST APIs or apps available on Marketplace.

      Problem Definition

      Currently, customers do not have a way to backup Assets data and configuration. 

      Suggested Solution

      Provide the ability to backup Assets objects and Assets configuration 

      Workaround

      Customers have to manually  export objects under each object type. You may use Assets REST APIs calls to export objects and keep their backup: JSDCLOUD-9879. Soon the object schema level exports will be available as well with JSM Assets.

      Or, there is a marketplace app that currently provides the option of backup and restore for Assets:  Insight Assets Backup & Migration
