Issue Summary
In the "Approval required" automation trigger, it says the following:
For Jira Service Management only. Rule is run when a work item that requires approval is created/updated, or when new approvers are added to a work item. This trigger needs no configuration.
However, the actual behavior is:
- Rule is run when a work item that requires approval is created/updated
does NOT work. (when approval field is empty) - when new approvers are added to a work item.
does work.
Steps to Reproduce
- Set up an automation rule using the trigger Approval Required.
- Create a ticket that will immediately transition to a status where approval is required, or transition an existing ticket to a status where approval is required. (at this point, there is no user set for the approval field. Please find the attached.)
Expected Results
The rule should be triggered.
Actual Results
The rule is not being triggered by the creation of the ticket nor the transition.
It is only triggered once an approver is manually added to the ticket while it is in an approval status.
Workaround
There is no workaround at the moment.
