NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Cloud. Using JIRA Service Desk Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

At the moment, when adding "Field help" in Service Desk > Settings > Request types > Edit fields screen, it's only possible to add a single line. For longer descriptions, it would be useful to be able to add multiple lines, e.g. to explain each position in the select list.

      Use case
Explanation for the 'Priority' field should be:

      Blocker - service is unavailable
Major - majority of users cannot use the service
Minor - some functionalities aren't working as expected

At the moment, it has to be displayed as:

Blocker - service is unavailable; Major - majority of users cannot use the service; Minor - some functionalities aren't working as expected

          Form Name

[JSDCLOUD-1557] Ability to add multiple lines (carriage return) in "Field help"

This is actually possible in wiki markup format.

            text \\ more text
            Example
Blocker - service is unavailable \\ Major - majority of users cannot use the service \\ Minor - some functionalities aren't working as expected

It's not nice to edit with a large description but it works.

This would be very useful when providing help with drop down list items
