The suggestion you made only works if you are copying a rule from the Global Automation section. It is still not possible to copy from one project to another, which is the main problem

Can't believe this has been a suggestion for nearly 7 years and still not implemented. The workaround does not work for me. I am an admin in 5 different projects and the only way to copy automation is to do it all manually.

+1 vote for this! This would be extremely handy. I find myself adding automations one by one across a number of projects (not relevant on all Projects - hence not loading them in Global automations). Would be so handy to be able to copy or as suggested above, load into Global and turn on/off on projects required on.

Well it would actually be better to be able to create an atomation rule and then be able to select which projects the rule applies to - less maintenance than copying rules. I guess we could create a global rule and just include a filter the specifices which projects to apply the rule to? Has anyone done that as a work around?

You could do that - but then the global rule would count as multi project execution and the execution count would be limited based on your Cloud license(Standard, Premium)

            @levi

            As a workaround you can

            1. go to the project with the rule you want to copy
            2. copy rule in the same project
            3. go to Global automation rule administration and select copied rule
            4. edit project scope to target project for selected copied rule

This will save a lot of time. Imagine having 80 projects that use the same basis rules and you have to recreate them each time -> this is what we have to do now. Please implement this feature, thanks!

We have about 8-10 service desks, the ability to copy rules from one project to another will save us ample of time.

With some of the complexity of setting up automation rules for the service desk you would be almost silly to do it in your live project.

This is a must have, should have been required out of the box when automation for JSD was first created. Makes it all the more galling that this is a 4 year old issue.

Please fix Atlassian you've given me at least another days work recreating our new service desk rules...

            Hi Atlassian team,

It is surprising that this application has been pending since 2016.

From the point of view of a multi-project product, such as JIRA SD, logic would dictate that this type of option should be available for most settings.

Or you could consider a global application of certain automations.

I hope that we will soon find the implementation of this request in a future update.

            Thanks in advance.

            Regards.

            Hi Atlassian team,

Due to our company's needs, we create a Service Desk for each of our new clients. Thanks to the absence of copying automation rules from project to project I've gained an advanced skill of creating such rules and their rather flexible configuration. Great thank you for that

Nevertheless, you'll do a great job when the copying of the automation rules will be available.

We all believe in you. Thanks in advance.

I have configured a ton of automation for a project, however that was a test project, to make sure that the automation rules made sense, and we could test everything before moving the automation to a production project.

Now that I am trying to copy all of the rules that exist in one project, to another.. it seems there is no simple way, and they must be re-created by hand, or imported individually, and edited one-by-one to apply to the desired project.

I think a tool such as a 'Bulk Copy' would resolve the workflow pains here.  If users could simply say 'Move all Automation to Another Project' and then are given a couple options such as 'Default Project', that would prevent me from having to spend an entire day just copying rules from one project to another.

Plugin is great but seems to have trouble scaling, this is one painful area.  Please address this and my business will be very happy!
