[JSDCLOUD-12279] Virtual Agent for Jira Service Management in MS Teams
Hi All!
We’re thrilled to announce that Jira Service Management Virtual Service Agent has officially landed on Microsoft Teams in its Beta version! We’d like to invite you to be among the first to experience the AI-powered support solution. Here’s what you need to know about next steps:
- Accessing the feature: Please send us an email to schakravarthy@atlassian.com with the Tenant ID for your Microsoft Teams instance and Cloud ID for your Jira Service Management site. Alternatively, you can share the details on this ticket. To find the Team Tenant ID, go to one of your Teams channels, click the three dots, click "Get link to channel". In this link you will find the TenantID value we need. Once our team has enabled the virtual agent for your project, you will be able to turn on AI Answers and start creating intents.
- Providing feedback: Throughout the course of the beta we’d like to connect with you periodically to hear about your experience, share feature updates, and get your feedback. Keep an eye out for an invite to a Jira Service Management project – we’ll use that to stay in touch. You’re also welcome to schedule a call with the product team using this link at any time.
We look forward to hearing from you and getting you started!

We are thrilled to announce that JSM Virtual Service Agent in Microsoft Teams is now in General Availability!
JSM Premium and Enterprise customers who use MS Teams in their organisation can now create and connect the Virtual Service Agent within their Teams instance, where help seekers can ask Assist their question in a private DM experience and get AI-powered help to self serve their own solution.
eeb2e5a08fc6 This is amazing news! Can you please confirm if any tier plan can have access to the Beta or if this is just for organizations that are on premium? Thank you!
Thanks for letting us know. How long do you plan to run this feature the beta testing?

Hi,
any news on this topic would be great, as we would like to test the virtual agent in MS Teams for our users.
We are invested in Jira, and I would like to see this done. I would hate to have to explore other options or move away from Jira because other applications can provide a virtual agent.
b626b4c1deb5 : We really need this for our organisation, please share the dates otherwise we need to work on alternates.
b626b4c1deb5 , any chance to share already a concrete release date (or quarter) in 2024? Wondering why it is in status "Gathering Interest", this status would rather speak against an already agreed release date.
This feature is on the Atlassian Cloud roadmap for Q3 or Q4 2024.
Please Atlassian rather Q3 than Q4, many user are waiting for the Virtual Agent on Teams!
Not sure why this is still 'gathering interest' - it should be implemented already. JSM tends to support business users, and business users use Teams, not Slack.
One of our prospects would be interested. The lack of Teams integration is a key reason they are going to be leaving their current helpdesk tool. "Teams has become the corporate standard for communications here".
Any possibility to still jump on a call @Sarah Scaife? Have a customer that is pretty eager to get this functionality for teams and wondering if we can expect it to be similar / same as the Slack experience, as well as some additional questions I'd like to relay.
Really keen to have this available for MSTeams, will make buy-in for my workplace a lot easier
Really looking forward to getting AI functionality in MS Teams. We are pretty excited for this to implement in Teams. Looking forward for this to get launched sooner than later.
We would like to have an better ETA then "this calendar year" if possible. Something like in Q2,Q3 etc
The company has been screaming for this option since it has been announced. And I really want to give them something else then "This Year"

Booked! Thanks Sarah
If any of my EU comrades can’t make the times and want to suggest any particular areas of concern or interest, feel free to note here and I’m happy to try to ask/pass along during my call next week (though for sure they’ll see here also and maybe will jump in).
Cheers
Mark
Would be happy to help also. But the time slots are at night time in the EU.
I would be happy to participate, but at a time that is convenient for European users.
Hi Sarah,
Do you maybe have some timeslots for the 30 minute chat during daytime Central European Time?
Kind regards
Hi all, I’m a PM on the JSM team working on the virtual agent!
We’re kicking off work to deliver the virtual agent to customers using MS Teams this calendar year and to help inform our solution, we’re looking to speak with a few folks.
Would anyone be interested in a 30-minute informal chat with our team? No prep or specialized knowledge required!
If you’re interested, feel free to schedule something via this Calendly link: https://calendly.com/mcasabonne/jsm-virtual-agent-chats
Thanks and look forward to speaking soon!
This feature is not slated on the roadmap until Q4 2024 (https://www.atlassian.com/wac/roadmap/cloud). The VA for Slack received 7% the amount of votes that VA for Teams has garnered so far... going to guess that Atlassian Devs use Slack primarily, so it was easier for them to most naturally focus on it. Still though, if the customers really want MS Teams then dang guys meet us on MS Teams!
Virtual Agent for MS Teams would drive an immediate upgrade for our team to JSM premium. Unfortunate that this isn't already an option as we're researching other tools currently for virtual agent integrations that will likely be ready prior to this feature's availability. Hoping this can be expedited!
This would definitely be a key functionality for my organization as we only use MS Teams.
My organization would get significant value from a Teams integration with AI.
I'm hoping the development for a Teams integration will follow closely behind Slack.
Working on getting integration between JiraSM and a large govt dept working. As it takes a long time to pass DataGov and Cyber regulations, I'd love an early start to this...
We are currently looking for another virtual agent and I would love to be able to utilize this both internally or externally but we are a Teams shop. Looking forward to this functionality becoming available in Teams.
The customer base we are working with on moving to JSM, about 90% of them us MS Teams. Very little slack usage in our customer base, so the MS Teams version will really help us out!
Would also like to be added to the early access program as soon as it is possible.
Would love to be added to the beta/EAP for this as soon as it becomes available... Thank you
Any chance there is a demo or Q&A session scheduled around this new feature? My team has been playing around with it and like what we see, but we would love to learn more about where it is heading.
