      User Stories

      • As an Insight admin, I want to represent all of my Jira users as Insight objects without needing to re-import them manually, because they already exist in another area of the same system and I already have enough manual drudge work in my life.
      • As an Insight admin, I want to rely on a single source of truth for my user data that all other user-related systems can integrate into because people make maintaining this information is difficult enough without tooling "helping".

      Context

      • In the vast majority of Jira Cloud configurations, people have to be represented in the system in order to interact with it; even Jira Service Management customers have user accounts.
      • Having a "user" object in an Insight schema is a very common and basic use-case, and most of the really cool things you can do in Insight requires this.
      • The source of truth for most user data in most organizations is not Atlassian.

All of this creates a situation where my Jira users are integrated nicely (usually) with my ID management or SSO provider, but I need to MANUALLY link these to Insight and maintain Insight data.
