How was the original created in 2021, and we still don't have this gap closed? We have forms tied to assets that only show the name/label of the asset, while the metadata is stored in attributes. Customers don't understand the option to pick from the portal due to only being able to see the label. We're faced with either updating the label to include the metadata (clunky solution), or adding documentation to every spot a field is used that requires closing this gap (which is maintenance nightmare). The fields are configurable in the issue view - please make them configurable for customer portals as well.

We are struggling to properly put Jira Assets to good use because of the lack of attribute names and values display on the customer portal.

We need customer users to be able to see what the attributes and their values are when searching for them in the customfield.

If only it would look like on the issue view.
