Disabling Jira Analytics should stop sending POST requests to /jira/rest/analytics/1.0/publish/bulk

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Problem Definition

Currently, the Jira analytics collection can be disabled from "Administration - > System - > Advanced - > Analytics" and this will stop processing and uploading analytics logs to Atlassian by Jira.

That being said, this does not stop POST rest call "/rest/analytics/1.0/publish/bulk". This unnecessarily floods the access logs and creates confusion about the feature status.

      Suggested Solution

Stop firing "/rest/analytics/1.0/publish/bulk" from Jira frontend.

      Workaround

I agree with this.  When measuring page load time, it always waits for that last bulk and adds 5 seconds or more to the time.  Why is batch.js shipping analytics if analytics aren't being recorded?  This makes no sense to me.
