We're glad to announce that MSSQL 2016 support for Jira Server Platform was added with Jira Software 7.9 release. As some of you may have already noticed, 7.9 was released this week, and you can download it here.

Here's the article on how to connect Jira applications to SQL Server 2016.

You can read about other capabilities we added in Jira Software 7.9 in the release notes.

      Cheers,
      Katarzyna Derenda

mkowalska is anybody going to update Fix Version/s on this issue to reflect the statement that it would be fixed in 7.9.0 release?

Do we have a rough idea when Jira 7.9.0 will be released?

So we're almost at the 90 day point since it was 'prioritized'. Any updates on when MSSQL 2016 will be supported? Any thought to supporting 2017 yet (JRASERVER-66320)?

Reiterating what Massimo said above "could you share a date or version that we can see the option available for server 2016?"

Just moved to 7.8 on our dev. environment  and it does not appear that SQL 2016 is still support  when can we expect this to change, could you share a date or version  that we can see the option available?.

            thanks

Any updates on this issue now that the blocking issue AMPS-1422 has been resolved for about a month?

Official support across various platforms for SQL 2014 was as follows... For Confluence it was 5.7 (January 2015), Jira in 7.1 (February 2016), and for Crowd it was in 2.11 (January 2017). RTM for SQL 2014 was 1st April 2014 (First CTP was June 2013). So don't hold your breath. The one shining light here was the Stash/Bitbucket support, and it was introduced in v3.1 in June 2014. Although looking at the tickets raised Stash users were requesting support during the CTP phase.

I'd advise trying to install it on a test environment, and submitting any errors you can to the tickets to give Atlassian a headstart in providing full support.
