Ability to set a default description template

      Problem Definition

      JIRA Users would like the ability to set a default value in description fields.

      Suggested Solution

      Provide ability to modify a template to set default values for issues.

      Workaround

      1. Explained in this KB article: Setting a Default Value in the Description Field.
        This requires editing of server files, thus is not possible in JIRA Cloud.
      2. Default Values Add-On (also not available for Cloud)

            I'm looking for template solution for Jira Cloud as well. Same purpose - make sure fields are populated as we wish. At list a link do procedure on Confluence would be a good starter/MVP.

            We are looking for this exact feature and we are working on the JIRA Cloud, so the proposed workaround(s) do not apply to us.

            Are there any plans on implementing this feature in the near future?

            The ability to do this often means that many separate text fields can be replaced by guiding people about what is wanted in each type of issue. Many of our customers ask for this
