It seems that there is a minor bug in the date picker in the german version.
The month march is translated "März" in german. The Datepicker generates the following format, if you pick a day in march:
      7/Mrz/15 (See attachment 1)
This leads to an error (See attachment 2)

The workarround is to set the format manually in the following way
      7/Mär/14

We implemented the workaround described in JRA-41268. The format is more appropriate for the german language zone anyhow. I wish it were default

To be honest - I do not understand, why this issue is not priorized. I mean nearly every user in germany is affected because the due to field is very common. Right now we only have about 50 user in our Jira-enviroment and it was quite problematic to inform / support all of them about this issue. Thinking of having all of our 4.000 employees working with jira would be a nightmare right now. Very disapointing.

Actually, it would be great if you could still fix this in February.
I assume there will be a lot of interest in March at latest, when almost every date one picks is in March as well.

            Hi joerg.brunner,

Thanks for showing your interest in this fix. Unfortunately, this is currently not in our short-term backlog as we are currently working through higher priority issues in other areas of JIRA.

Having said that it is still an issue we would like to address in the long term, as it gathers more votes and interest from other customers. Could you please add your vote to this?
Please also do watch the issue, I will update it as soon as more information is available on it.

            Regards,
            Klaus
