Adding a BETA symbol, ß to any custom field options causes the custom field to not be searchable. An error is shown in the issue navigator:

The option 'ß' for field 'BETA CHECKBOX' does not exist.

As a test, other symbols work just fine: FieldsWorking.jpg

Tried changing the default language and indexing language to German, and reindexed. But that didn't help.
