      Atlassian Update – 16 February 2018

      Hi,

Thank you for raising this suggestion. We regret to inform you that we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now.

I understand this decision will be disappointing to everyone who voted for this issue. While we believe this suggestion would improve the product, after careful review of the most pressing needs of our customers, we've decided to prioritize other areas of the Jira Server roadmap, including:

      • Performance and stability improvements
      • Archiving projects for improved performance
      • Optimising the use of custom fields
      • Improving performance of boards
      • Improving Jira notifications
      • Allowing users to edit shared filters and dashboards
      • Mobile app for Jira Server

Meanwhile, for all customers who require to use time instead of "1 hour ago", there is an existing workaround described in the suggestion, which we know many of you have found useful.

For more context, check out our Community blog on our renewed approach to highly voted Server suggestions for Jira and Confluence.

      Thanks again.
      Regards,

      Gosia Kowalska

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Activities on issues display "Updated 1 hour ago" instead of the actual time stamp. I've searched through the support documentation for 6.0.1 and earlier versions, and have been unable to find instructions for Administrators to change the configuration to always display the actual time/date of activity.

      Please advise.

      Workaround:
      • Modify the jira-config.properties file and add this line:
        jira.lf.date.relativize = false

      • This will not affect all areas of JIRA, such as the Activity Stream

      Note:

      1. The jira-config.properties file is not created by default. If the file is not already created, you need to do so. For more details please refer to our Advanced JIRA Configuration page
      2.  Modifications in the  jira-config.properties file is not supported in Cloud.
