Cannot search with Epic in the new Parent field if the Summary has a special character

      Additional Affected Characters (not covered by fix)

      • Ampersand (&) — searching "Website&Redesign" in Parent field returns no results
      • Hyphen in certain patterns — e.g. "FY26-Q4" still fails depending on approach

      Additional Steps to Reproduce (Ampersand)

      1. Create an Epic/parent with "&" in the summary, e.g. "Website&Redesign Testing"
      2. Go to a Story/child issue
      3. Click Add parent
      4. Search for "Website&Redesign"
      5. No results returned

      Workaround

      • Search by issue key directly (e.g. PKey-123))
      • Search using a keyword that avoids the special character (e.g. "Website")

      Issue Summary

      Unable to search certain Epic summary in the Parent field if the Epic's Summary has a special character like "-"(hyphen) or () parenthesis or any special character

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create Epic and include "-" or any special character in the summary. For example "Test - Epic"
      2. Try searching with Epic summary in the Parent field of Task or Story
      3. Parent field does not match special character - in the search and does not show any matches.

      Expected Results

      • Should be able to find the Epic summary with "-" in the Parent field

      Actual Results

      • The Parent field does not match the text if - is added into it.

      Workaround

      1. Remove the special character from Epic's summary
      2. Use the issue key instead to search
