tickets can be dragged / ranking can be changed using a touch-screen interface

[JRACLOUD-91027] Make JIRA Software iPad/touch friendly

We had the same issue with our boards, using Jira Cloud.
After booking an incident/bug and having done some troubleshooting together with Atlassian Premium Support, the conclusion came out that Jira doesn't provide touch screen support yet....

Quitte a bummer when you want to do your daily in front of a big TV-like touch screen.
Anyway, a suggestion was made to implement this feature, so please vote for it if it interests you, regardless if you use Jira Cloud or Jira Server.

We are using an InFocus 65" touchscreen and have difficulty with JIRA recognizing we want to move a ticket instead of scroll left or right. You have to catch the ticket just right and move quickly. Chrome and Microsoft Edge don't allow you to move tickets on a board, but you can use touch to open and edit. You need to use Firefox or IE to get JIRA to recognize moving tickets on a board.

I have similar intension like Giovanni, just waiting when this functionality will be available out of the box.

Support for any touch screen device would be great.
I'm looking at purchasing two 60" touch screen TVs to replace our whiteboard, and the only thing standing in my way is that touch is not supported.

The description here reads, "tickets can be dragged / ranking can be changed using a touch-screen interface."

I think it SHOULD read, "tickets can be dragged / ranking can be changed using a touch-screen interface when you don't mean to. It happens when you are only trying to scroll and often you don't notice it has happened, particularly in the Plan mode."

The web interface is OK at least from a display point of view. But a native ipad app that focused on the kanban and scrum boards would be great. Kanbanery provides a decent ipad app for their product as a point of reference.

I too have the issue on ipad of the drop down select list always selecting the first item. Supporting drag and drop functionality is the other issue. Of course it's not just green hopper Jira itself has these problems

I find that on iPad the drop down select list widget that allows you to type to match within that list thinks that you have chosen the first item on the list no matter which item you tap in the drop-down. The workaround is to completely type out the full text of the option you want, which is really painful. Am I the only one seeing this?

One advantage of the ipad is that most web pages display just fine. I have been using JIRA for 12 months now via the ipad and the standard interface works great. I have been displaying GH via ipad as well and the display is fine but the limitations of the js library make some actions unusable. So IMHO better to spend the time on making the standard interface compatible rather than extra expense of an app which would be only available to a limited (but very important) group
