      Problem Definition
On monitors with touchscreen, drag & drop doesn't work as expected to move issues across board columns.

A new page/back button shows up on the screen that blocks the issue transition on project boards.

      Suggested solution
Provide support for touchscreen behavior on project boards

We live in a world of touch screens. It's been 18 years since the introduction of mass market touch devices. The market for touch-enabled laptops and 2-in-1-devices is booming on every single continent. Especially developers and management use touch screen laptops. Software teams gather around huge digital Kanban boards for their daily standups. Atlassian, you're way behind on this. This is a low hanging fruit. You can do it!

I disagree with everyone here, I think Atlassian should continue to ignore this feature request and really drive home that Jira is for SILLY GEESE

How is this still not a thing? It's been years, and one of the best things about Jira is the ability to drag "issues" like stickies on a physical SCRUM board.

3ae4fdc94792, I agree! Just do it, Jira!

We should comment on this post everyday. Might get their attention!

Jira, you have most of the code in place - drag & drop functionality by mouse.

Use some standard drag & drop library and hook it up to the existing logic. This is a quick win for everyone.

            Thanks!

Hi! Its been 3 years since this issue was logged. Where is the touch screen support?
I have the app on my phone so I know we HAVE the technology! We can do it!

            Let's make it happen!

Hello! Just posting this to show that there's still folks out here looking for full touchscreen support on JSW boards.

Well, thank you. We've just wasted a couple of thousand dollars in man-hours trying to figure out why swipe wouldn't work on our digital whiteboard. Trying every setting and option between screen, laptop and dock.
Never did it occur to us that a company like Atlassian, with a broadly-used suite like Jira, did not support touch interfaces.
            Completely and utterly baffling.

This deficiency is all throughout Jira by the way, not only at the current sprint. A user should be able to swipe issues up and down on the backlog too, or any of the other pages.

Personally, I would categorize this issue as a shortcoming or bug, rather than improvement, because functionalities like these are nowadays expected as basic features, and not "extra's".

I can't add labels or related tickets, but maybe helpful for someone who can:

How is this not possible yet?  I want to use Jira instead of MS Planner, but I cannot convince users that Jira is a better solution when it does not support the most basic functionality that is expected from all software in today's world.  Please Atlassian, implement this soon!
