    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      • In the issue layot you can hide fields when Empty but if those have a value they are displayed in the context field part (right panel), it would be helpful to have a way that those fields remain in the Description fields part.
      • We need the ability to hide fields in screen tabs, currently, all fields show, no matter if comes empty. Please add this enhancement to this issue

Is there ever going to be movement on this? It seems like something that would be standard and this was opened 4 years ago now at this point. This would really help organize the information in a ticket in the correct way for our development team to view it. Can anyone from Jira provide an ETA?

I would suggest to have an overall option (checkbox) to set all fields of issues to "hide if empty" without the need to move fields to another section.

Alternatively for each field there must be the option to set it as "hide if empty", also without moving it to another section.

I would love to see this fixed, it would tidy up the issue view and open up the option to use more fields, instead of having to restrict them so much, because they're cluttering up the agents  page for no reason other than to let you know they're 'Empty'.

As c06e10e46ade said, this seems like a feature that doesn't work or a bug, rather than a need to add a new feature. Hide when empty surely should not default to putting fields into the side bar when not empty. I think it should put them into the 'hidden fields' side bar when empty, and then when filled, they are placed in a position we would like.

We need this field to have important information made available when value present front and center but not clutter tickets when empty as it is provided via automation/programmatically.

This would be incredibly helpful and much more user-friendly. Having everything in the right panel is messy especially when certain tickets have many fields.

            Hello team,

This doesn't seem like a suggestion. You can insert the Description field into the "Hide when empty" option, but it doesn’t work, which feels more like a bug, misleading admins into using a non-functional feature.

Please either fix this issue or remove the option to insert it into the "Hide when empty" section.
