      List of duplicate and invalid e-mail addresses during Jira Import is not complete

      Environment

      • Jira Cloud

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Import backup file that contains duplicate or invalid e-mails being used for multiple user accounts

      Expected Results

      Customer is presented with full list of all duplicate or invalid e-mails in the backup to update

      Actual Results

      Only some of the duplicate or invalid e-mails are listed. After updating all e-mails in the list that shows and proceeding with the import, the import fails with error:

      Cannot start import - multiple users have the same email address: <emailAddress>

      Notes

      The e-mail address listed in the error never showed up in the list of duplicate or ivnalid e-mails to update when running the Jira import. If you check the entities.xml file, you will confirm that there are duplicate e-mails linked to multiple user accounts.

      Workaround

      Ensure all user accounts have unique e-mail addresses on the Source Jira instance before exporting a site backup to import in to Cloud
