Previously, JIRA Ticket fields would directly flow to fill the full width of a browser window, which would let users arrange their browser orientation to their own workflow. This was particularly useful in larger format monitors (like 2k or 4k monitors)
Custom Fields are heavily affected by this particular functionality change, since the available width of custom fields is smaller, adding additional layers of difficulty to viewing all of the relevant information at once.

[JRACLOUD-68648] Allow for width control of the JIRA Issue View in the new JIRA UI
So it seems the last assignee has left, so 2239430e27fb, any update on this? Any chance this will ever make it onto the roadmap? Or is Atlassian just stalling and won't ever bother to fix this, just like apparently they never intend to add text mode edit every again https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-72631
@b7e3f97e2667, not sure what that comment is about, as the last comment from @Liron said, only a partial fix has been pushed, so we're still awaiting center/internal width/layout issue.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for catching this. We indeed shipped an ability to resize the right-hand sidebar in the new issue view, but we do not have a way today to fully control the internal width / white space / padding which I believe is also what this ticket is about (thank you for calling that out).
Reopened this ticket to be able to track this going forward. We are checking internally what can further be done and will provide an update asap.

Great catch Liron. Yes, we need the view/update more so than the create. But, both are important.

f3fe3bcdf08f - that new ticket you are referring to speaks to the CREATE experience, not the VIEW/UPDATE experience. I just wanted to clarify whether that is indeed the problem that remains or are folks here still talking about the "View/Update" issue view problem?
They created a new ticket for this same enhancement from this ticket - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-79082
This does not seem to have been solved but is closed. We use ultra wide curved monitors and the Jira ticket does not stretch to align with the screen size.
