Deleting Large Project from JIRA, the progress stop abruptly without any error given.
Steps To Replicate
- Prepare 30k issues project
- Delete the project
- Notice that there will be a progress bar indicating the process (0% complete. 7 seconds elapsed.)
- After a while (approximate a minute or two)
- It states progress unknown and refreshing it brings you back to the dialog
- Checking the project, it still exist on the JIRA instance
Expected Result
Project deleted
Actual Result
Project still searchable and able to access
Additional information
Project actually have deducted numbers of issue, it seems that the deletion was ongoing and it stopped at some point. It does not carry any consistency on the number of issue. It sometimes delete 1000 issues, at times, it only delete 500 issues. It could be due to the instance's load at that moment.
Workaround
Retry the operation for multiple time, eventually it will get the project deleted
