Problem Definition
When customer is trying to update/edit/create an issue, the following message shows up:
Some issue types are unavailable due to incompatible field configuration and/or workflow associations (source)
As a workaround to use the unavailable issue types, users would have to use the MOVE feature.
Suggested Solution
It would be nice to:
- Be able to edit that error message
OR - Add more details to the user saying that s/he will have to use the MOVE feature
OR - Remove that message at all
Workaround
As a workaround, customers can add a "warning" into the Issue Type field description. To do so you can go to: Issues > Field Configuration > Issue Type > Edit.
Alternatively, change to the new issue view.
Notes
This issue is fixed in the new issue view; with the new issue view, when you try to change the issue type, it automatically prompts you into the move operation.
