    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Problem Definition

As per configuring JIRA Service Desk Approvals, at the moment, the Add Approval feature can only be used for Service Desk project and it is not possible to use it with Software or Business project.

      Suggestion

It would be great if we can have the Approval feature for Software and Business project as well like what we have for Service Desk project.

It seems it is one of atlassians strange rollout "experiments":

I would like to inform you that the Approvals panel you are seeing is indeed a new experimental feature that has been selectively released to some customers. This feature is designed to enhance the approval process and is non-workflow-based, allowing for more flexibility and ease of use in JSW projects.
To give you some context, experiments are features under development that are exposed to a subset of customers to get an early indication of the user experience for a change before we decide to launch it.
Because experiments are still under development and may change before rolling out or could potentially be rolled back as well, we don't publish release notes for them in the cloud updates blog. If the experiment does progress to a full rollout, we will follow all regular release processes at that point including publishing release notes.

Adding a comment hoping that when JWM and JSW combine into "Jira" the approval tab of the Work Management is still used. My company doesn't use "approvals" yet because JWM projects are less flexible then JSW.

If testing is going on with this feature, is there an ETA of general release or us getting onto a beta?

As I can see, there is added approval panel for Company-managed Jira Software projects.
Only it can't be edited in the workflow (it doesn't work like JSM, as far as I can see)
There is also no information on the approval or deny task in the activity zone.

50ebacbc696d can you please share your image of the approval panel on some place like imgur.com or imgbb.com? I don't think non-Atlassians are allowed to add images, so we're just seeing a placeholder.

Looks like they are testing this feature, we have an approval panel now:

            +1

I don't understand what's the difficulty of putting this feature on Jira Software while it's already available in JSM.
