      Hello everyone,

I’m thrilled to announce that native archiving issues in Jira Cloud is now generally available.

Instead of deleting issues, Premium and Enterprise users can now archive issues from their projects to reduce clutter. If you archive an issue, it will only appear in Archived issues and can no longer be edited. You can restore an archived issue if you need it in the future.

To help your team start archiving issues immediately, we’ve automatically allowed users, groups, and roles to archive issues if they already have permission to delete them. For more details, please read the support documentation.

      Hello everyone,

I'm thrilled to announce native migration support for Archived Issues from the Data Center to the cloud, now available as a General Availability (GA) feature in the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA). This feature is accessible from JCMA version 1.10.16 onwards.

For more details on how Archived Issues are migrated, visit our support documentation.
Feel free to respond to this ticket if you have any follow-up questions.

      Hey everyone,

I’m happy to share that we’ve released the first milestone of this project to all customers. Admins can now archive issues on Jira Cloud using APIs. For more information, read this post!

Keep an eye out for updates on this ticket as we progress toward the second milestone, allowing end users to archive issues on the product.

Thanks as always for your patience.

      Hi Everyone!

We'd like to let you know that we're making good progress on the ability to archive individual Jira Cloud issues. We'd like to invite customers to our Early Access Program (EAP) so we can test the archive and unarchive functionality with a small group of customers. For more information, please refer to this post

Looking forward to your active participation.

      Regards,
      Arjoon Som

      Original request description:

We would like to have the ability to archive old issues. We currently have an installation of JIRA (3.0.3) that has grown to 50,000 + issues. Out of these, about 35k are closed issues. We would like to be able to remove these issues from the database so that our installation has a smaller amount of issues. As an example, all issues that are more than 90 days old would be removed from the database, but they would still be useful for a Knowledge Base.

To summarise, a feature that would remove or export issues (with comments) of certain age would be very useful.
