NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.
The issue collector only allows for users with the jira-user global permission to raise issues.
If the email address used in the form it not mapped to a user with this permission, the default reporter will be used instead.
If the issue collector is being used for a Service Desk project, requests raised by customers will always be set with the default reporter since customers (generally) do not have the jira-user global permission, even though their email address can be mapped to a user with the permission to raise issues in the Service Desk project.
This causes inconsistencies for the reporter of such issues, and prevents the issue being visible for the actual reporter.
Can functionality get implemented for the issue collector to recognise customers as valid reporters when using the issue collector on Service Desk projects?
