Feature to restrict the downloading permission of attachment

      Set permission to download the attachments limited to certain group

      Update 25 July 2023: Adding the following from closed duplicate JRACLOUD-72372 – Allow disabling attachment download from the issue view

      Problem Statement

      Due to securities concern, we do not allow the user to download report outside our office. The users should be able to only view the documents, and not copy, download, etc.

      Suggestion

      Allow tracking from audit logs and disabling the following Attachment feature

      • copy
      • copy as the image
      • download of files and documents.

            Hi,

            Attachment restrictions is also basic requirements like other permissions restrictions in the issue. 

            Now the assignee of the ticket in various stages can able to download all the attachments in the issue. 

            This is completely a meaningless action  to give download attachments permissions to all the assignees .

            So please consider this as priority and rollout this action in the next versions.

            We have customers send us data to help us resolve there issues that can contain PII we would like to restrict who can down load these attachments and also log who did. This is a security risk and puts the company on the hook for liability of the data if its a free for all to download. We are risk mitigations here. ie potential dataloss prevention.

            We are using this product to add files with sensitive data that we want to share but not to be distributed around lots of people's machines, there fore would be ideal to have pdf documents that are view only and now downloadable. Surely this should be an option?
