Current way of deactivating a user from the jira-users group

      1. Remove these groups via (Administration » Groups » "jira-users" » Edit Members).
      2. By referring the current documentation of Deactivating a user.

However, it will be great to deactivate users with a new feature of selecting a batch/bulk of unactive users.

For example, I have about 100 users that are not in that jira-users group.

I want to deactivate all those 100 users using the new active flag.

Workaround: How to disable/remove inactive or active users in bulk

Please let us know if there is API which can do the same.

From my experience anything under 5000 is not a priority, especially if there are work arounds. If you are migrating from server expect to lose a lot of great functionality for administration in terms of database queries and injections. You will more then likely have to work around using the API or ScriptRunner to get the results. Atlassian's not going to roll this feature out as they have bigger defects and bugs to deal with.

This is needed badly. We are currently migrating to the cloud and not having this ability has caused nightmares and tons of extra hassle.

We are currently going back and forth with marketplace partners that we have active licenses with for server to remove billing, which is caused by Atlassian not being able to grant the vendors approval for trial extensions during the migrations, because every test migration moves users from the project migrated and therefore increases the threshold above billable, auto-starting billing, even though Atlassian reassured us there won't be billing and it started unbeknownst, due to the inability to deactivate users quickly after test migration. And there is NO way to use the migration tool without migrating users.

We are now having to use another plugin (and yet another nightmare trying to extend trial) to bulk deactivate.

What a mess...please implement this, this should be native, agree with everyone here.

            Dear,

I fully understand that the issues and new features requested are prioritized.

However, I believe that it is not only with the number of votes that you should prioritize.

This is a basic functionality and it makes no sense whatsoever that it is pending in 2012 (more than 10 years???).

I appreciate that it can be escalated and a decision made, otherwise I don't understand the reason for the issue to remain open.

            Best regards

Even better, or in conjunction, would be the ability to filter for users who haven't access the system in a period of time, and run an automation to suspend them. It seems like a pretty obvious thing to set up as an automation, I'm surprised that it's not part of the system already.

It is super-annoying to have to delete users by hand, one at a time.   A bulk delete function that could be used by our staff without having to resort to scripting is highly desirable.

            Hi,

it is extremely important to have this functionality as soon as possible.

Many users will be really grateful since in some cases it is not feasible to do without this functionality.

Could you please give me a workaround?

Please provide a filter for "Last Activity" so we can identify the users to be deactivated at least!

We have a large installation that is using LDAP for user Authentication.
When a user is deactivated in LDAP, they can no longer logon; however, we would like a way to have them systematically deactivated in JIRA so they no longer use one of the licensed seats.

            Hello,

I would just like to inform that we have developed a JIRA Plugin (as well as a confluence counterpart) for Bulk Deactivation of Users.
Currently it supports searching out and listing users that have been inactive for a given amount of months as well at the option to deactivate these users.
