Atlassian Status as of 10 April 2012

      Hello All,

Many thanks for your feedback on this issue.

After following the thread here and also researching the related support tickets we've identified four main areas that can be broken down into two main paths:

      1. Migrating whole directories:
1.1 Internal to Internal with Delegated Auth
1.2 Internal with Delegated Auth to Internal

      and

      2. Migrating users from one directory to another:
      2.1 Individually
2.2 All users in a directory

We have started working on a fix for 1.1 and 1.2 and we believe this will solve most the of the problems outlined in our research thus far. We hope to finish up this fix in the next few weeks and release it in 5.0.x.

We'll continue to update this issue as more information comes to hand.

      Regards,

      Roy Krishna
      JIRA Product Management

Once a user created in 1 directory, there is no way to migrate the user to other directory. For example, migrate the user from Internal Directory to internal directory with LDAP Authentication (LDAP Delegated Authentication).

we are using JIRA v6.3.12 and there is no available the migration users from one directory to another anymore. How can we deal with this problem now?

We are facing issues while migrating users from one delegated LDAP to another delegated LDAP directory. All users are not getting migrated. We are using Jira 6.3.8.
Has anybody faced such issue before with this jira version?

Similar question from me - I want to migrate from an internal directory to Active Directory. It doesn't look like this is possible without https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-27868 so why is this marked as resolved?

Is this issue really resolved? How can I migrate users from one internal directory to a LDAP directory (delegated authentication)?

            Thanks,

            Hi,
In this connection, I have a problem that I can not solve.
As I can use authentication against ldap but that the authenticated user is included in a local group JIRA. That is, depending on which company the user belongs is a group or another.
Is there any way to have this setup in JIRA?
But with a configuration of ldap users and local groups to Jira

In this case, the title/description and status of this issue are very misleading.
When I read that issue "Not able to migrate user from 1 directory to another directory" is "resolved fixed" in version 5.0.3, I'm expecting to be able to migrate a user between 2 different directories in version 5.0.3.
If I understood correctly, it will not be the case until JRA-27868 is implemented.

I got confirmation from Atlassian support (JSP-120322):
2.1 and 2.2 are NOT fixed with this issue.
It looks like Atlassian created a new issue JRA-27868 to solve 2.1 and 2.2 maybe sometime

Same for me. I would have needed 2.1 last year when we consolidated Active Directory after our company merged with another company.
I still need 2.2 to clean up the mess that I created with the workarounds.

Thanks for this valuable update on the issue.
Does the resolution "fixed" mean that the 4 features described by Roy Krishna are implemented in version 5.0.3? That would be good news.
Do features 2.1 and 2.2 enable migration from/to "Active Directory" directories? Or only from/to local and local with delegated auth?

IMHO, features 2.1 and 2.2 are the most expected (and correspond to the original description of this issue). It is at least my case.

@Trevor: I've tried it, but it doesn't work for me (JIRA 4.4.5). Any other advice to reload the user cache?
