WSFJ - Improvement on WSFJ and support for any prioritization framework

    • 2
    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Summary:

Not all customers use WSFJ as a prioritization framework and for those who do – the functionality is greatly lacking in multiple areas.

      Suggestion:

Consider a broad improvement in support for prioritization in Align by supporting the following suggestions

      • Enable the ability to toggle OFF WSFJ and enable any priority score
        • WSFJ = ON would keep functionality as-is
        • WSFJ = OFF would disable the calculation of WSFJ
      • The Company should be able to choose whatever method of prioritization it wants, IE: RICE, Weighted Score, etc
        • Jira Align should be able to work with multiple priority frameworks since not every organization is SAFE

99bfc1506543 – wondering if there is an opportunity to do consider this since this should be a light lift and provide multiple customers a path for any type of prioritization and could help resolved or mitigate the following

We would like the ability to carry forward the WSJF scoring from backlog to Release A and from Release A to Release B etc.    Having to reenter the scoring for every release is typically unnecessary.  Inheriting the previous score would reduce the toil involved in managing WSJF.  Our current workaround it so copy the scoring summary into the description and then manually rekey the scores.  We would also welcome API access to manipulate/copy the scoring.

It is important to note that if WSFJ = OFF – the user or organization should be able to add in whatever "priority score" they want to use

In theory it should just turn off the calculation and allow it to be manually added.

1- User should be able to view it on the backlog as Priority Score to make a decision

2- Developers should be able to see this in the WHY field (except it says priority score vs WSFJ)

3- APIs should be able to read/write that field directly since it a field.  This would allow companies to have whatever priority calculation they want and plug this into this field
