Description
Issue Summary
Attempt to log in to an externally accessible ideation group results in an access request.
Notice the issue only occurs for existing, previously registered users on some ideation group. If attempting with an unknown user, never registered before, the expected results are seen.
Steps to Reproduce
- As a Jira Align Admin, setup Ideation portal with at least two ideation groups:
- Ideation group "Safari"
- Ideation group "Mozilla"
- Setup both groups to be externally accessible, as depicted below
- As an external user (say "John Doe"), browse to Safari's externally accessible URL
- Click Register to register for an ideation account
- As a Jira Align Admin, browse to Ideation page then approve John's request made on previous step
- As John, log in to "Safari" externally accessible URL
- File a new idea; notice it gets displayed as expected
- Open a new tab
- As John, browse to Mozilla's externally accessible URL
- At login page, fill in email & password fields with John's credentials (used while registering for "Safari" ideation group)
- Click Login
- Notice the red toaster displaying the message below:
An access request has been sent to this group's administrator. - Notice an Access Idea Zone request email is sent to "Mozilla" ideation group admin
Expected Results
- An access error message, like below:
Actual Results
- A red toaster displaying the message below:
An access request has been sent to this group's administrator. - An Access Idea Zone request email is sent to "Mozilla" ideation group admin
Workaround
- Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
