I want to fully create and set-up a user before inviting the user. I want to specify that user's groups, provide them access to certain projects and Confluence pages, etc., before sending out their invitation to join my OnDemand JIRA instance.

Unfortunately there seems to be no way to manually send an invitation after I manually set up a user! Instead, there are obtuse, unnecessary workarounds. See e.g.:

None of these questions have a satisfactory answer, and the workarounds provided are time-consuming and not user-friendly for users for which JIRA is new to begin with.

If the system has the capability to send a signup invitation to a user, it should have the ability to resend that same invitation to the same user. In fact in this case, the invitation has never been sent, as I set up the user manually.

JIRA shouldn't place me in the position of secure key management and distribution. I shouldn't have to assign a password and then try to transport it securely to the user. The system has capability to send an invitation link. It should allow me to manually send that invitation link whenever I choose, as many times as I like.

[ID-83] Way to send/resend invitations to new OnDemand JIRA users.

THIS IS A JOKE!! HOW CAN THIS NOT BE AVAILABLE. WE ARE EVALUATING DIFFERENT SOFTWARE TO USE, AND THIS ONE IS THE WORST. MISSING BASIC FUNCTIONALITIES AND NOBODY IS EVEN BOTHERING TO IMPLEMENT IT.

+1 for reopening. I'm surprised this was closed.

This is going to create a lot of pain for my org as we initially disabled the portal invite in order to get everything else tested and tweaked before making the portal live to our employees. Now I have over 200 users I need to have to password resets.

We would also like this feature, as it only makes sense to be able to resend. Another reason one would want to do this is after syncing another directory (such as azure or ad) and want to add a user not in azure or ad, we have to add through crowd. We should be able to send out the welcome email again, as adding this way does NOT create a welcome email (as you are creating a user in the directory, not in the application).

This is definitely still a problem for IT Admins. Having users using "Can't Log in?" workaround works, but is very unprofessional, especially if the customer accidentally deleted the invitation email, and never had a chance to set their password. This logically doesn't make much sense to us and our customers, and I wish this issue wasn't dropped/resolved/closed because there wasn't enough evident "traction".

This issue is not resolved! I reiterate Susan Phipps~

"When you're ready, you will be able to resend an invite to the user from the Users list." --> This functionality doesn't exist! And I can't vote for this issue!

            What do we do?

"When you're ready, you will be able to resend an invite to the user from the Users list. "

I can't find this functionality under the User List under User Management.

            Please provide instructions.

It's now possible to prevent the initial sending of an invite to a user. In the Create User dialogue, under Additional options you can deselect "Send Invite" and the invite will not be sent to the user. When you're ready, you will be able to resend an invite to the user from the Users list.

This is a pretty clunky setup Atlassian, and the fix seems pretty easy to implement.

Unbelievably this bug has been around since 2012 - https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/87842/is-there-a-way-to-resend-sign-up-invitation-email-to-the-users

Not sure why this is still a "Suggestion", you might call it a Feature, but really it's a bug because the User Management feature is really not complete until this capability has been enabled.

This is a very basic capability of any User Management.  Essentially the ability to select and multi-select users (Customers in JIRA Service Desk) and send them an[other] invitation.  The UI would show the last time an invitation was sent and when it will expire. for each selected users.

This should also (of course) be enabled in the REST API - JSD-4426 and JSD-4425

Can this get prioritized and added?
