    • Major
    • L

      Issue Summary

The UI modification installation worked for a period of time, but now it intermittently fails to load, resulting in an uncaught error.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a Forge app that uses jira:issueViewBackgroundScript or other task that uses Forge bridge.

      Expected Results

      No errors are thrown.

      Actual Results

Error is thrown in browser developer console

      Workaround

A temporary solution is present in the form of uninstalling followed by reinstallation of the Forge app. However, this method is not suitable for application in a production environment.

After investigating this issue it is an issue with requests to *.cdn.prod.atlassian-dev.net (where * is a app Install ID, uniquely generated every time you install a Forge App) being blocked by OpenDNS.

Unfortunately we cannot raise requests on behalf of customers for this issue. You must contact them directly.

Anyone else with this issue should:

            1. Check what requests they are making to this domain
            2. Do a dig command on a machine where you have this issue
              • e.g.
                dig [add-your-requested-subdomain].cdn.prod.atlassian-dev.net
            3. Check to see if it is being resolved by one of OpenDNS's malware catcher or another DNS provider's endpoint
            4. Raise a request with your Network team or DNS provider directly to ensure requests to this URL are not blocked
