      Hi everyone,

Thank you for your votes and comments on this improvement request. Whilst this is something we would like to eventually implement, it is not at the forefront of our upcoming roadmap plans.

We will be focussing on improving the integration of Crowd within our Atlassian suite of products, as well as simplifying and improving the overall user management and administrative experience.

If priorities change, this ticket will be updated. If you'd like to better understand how we make roadmap decisions, have a read of : https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DEV/Implementation+of+New+Features+Policy

      Cheers,
      Helen Hung

If a license is exceeded, users should no longer be able to log into Crowd-enabled apps but the Crowd admin should have the chance to fix the problem via Crowd Admin.

      Workaround:

Please follow the instructions in this KB article.

[CWD-678] Allow Crowd admin ability to adjust number of users if license is accidentally exceeded during configuration.

How is it acceptable that this isn't fixed?

+1 how is this not fixed yet?

            took down our prod server.

Atlassian docs even tell you to log into crowd and get server key to generate license which you cant do? less savvy users would be stuck.

those docs should at least tell you where to go in the OS to get from the config file

+1, I just discovered this myself.  Added a new user; but forgot to remove old ones.

...At least there is a workaround.

@Paulo da Silva – The works, but it's a huge pain.. Especially when working on non-internet connected networks.

As workaround I just installed an unlimited evaluation licence, disabled some users, and switched back the licence.

+1 - a simple mistake nearly took my whole engineering department down with no easy way to fix.

            Hi everyone
Thanks for your feedback and I apologise that we have not been able to provide consistent responses for every comment. Your comments do not go unnoticed - we acknowledge that this is an unresolved issue and it is on our radar of features/improvements to invest in (which you can imagine is not short). I can't promise you a specific release time for this but know that we are working hard on prioritising and you will be the first to know when a more concrete date or release has been decided upon.
            Cheers
