An LDAP directory supports 2 modes:

      • Read Only
Users, groups and memberships are retrieved from your LDAP server and cannot be modified in the application.
      • Read Only, with Local Groups
Users, groups and memberships are retrieved from your LDAP server and cannot be modified. Users from LDAP can be added to groups maintained in the application's internal directory.

For a Crowd based directory only the "Read Only" mode is currently available but it would be beneficial to support the "Read Only, with Local Groups: for Crowd as well.

Not sure what the exact use case for this is.

When using Crowd, the preferred way to manage users and groups is using Crowd, where you can customize group memberships in a single place for all applications.

zafer Right now, this is not on our short to medium term (think "next half a year or so") roadmap. Beyond that, we don't know yet.

Is there any plan to implement this feature?
