• Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

Crucible often hangs or is very slow for many users. This seems to occur when there is review creation activity happening. we have > 600 users and the larger teams are experiencing slow crucible response times. In general, the feedback has been its slow (most) to unusable (some.).

we restart crucible with a nighly crontab.

      • It causes JIRA issue views to time out (apache proxy times out) when the "Unreviewed Code Condition" is active for example.

            Hi cdavis1

That error is not related to the issue solved by this ticket - you should file a support request if you have not already.

            Hey all,
I'm running 3.0.1 and I'm getting errors in my log files that resembles this. I'm using MySQL for my DB:

2013-07-19 14:38:28,971 WARN - Caught BatchUpdateException while executing:DefaultContentManager.updateDetails. Going to retry 9 more times
2013-07-19 14:38:39,977 WARN - Caught BatchUpdateException while executing:DefaultContentManager.updateDetails. Going to retry 8 more times
2013-07-19 14:38:41,980 WARN - Caught BatchUpdateException while executing:DefaultContentManager.updateDetails. Going to retry 8 more times

Eventually this counter reaches 0 and then everything works but until then, I can't very specific reviews that trigger this error.

The singleton session logic was completely removed in Crucible 3.0 so the locking issues experienced by customers and reported on this ticket would not happen any more.
Crucible 3.0 is planned to be released later this year, in few months time.

            Hi Jose,

We need to udnerstand exactly why Crucible hangs.

Could you wait until it happens again, then take a thread dump of the hanging Crucible:
            http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/FISHEYE/Generating+a+Thread+Dump+Externally

Then create a support case in our support systm:
            http://support.atlassian.com/

and ensure you attach the logs with the thread dump to the support issue.

We can take it from there.

            Cheers,
            Anton

Crucible 2.7 hung very often . we have less than 100 users now. It does not give any hint or rationale on the log files.

            Hi all,
As we are close to the release of Crucible 2.6, I am moving this issue to a 2.7 fix version so we can continue to work with you all to identify and resolve the biggest performance issues in the product.

            Thanks,
            Seb
